XTB Clone Scam: FCA Issues Urgent Investor Warning

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a warning about scammers cloning the website of XTB Limited, a UK-regulated broker. The fraudulent site, located at xtbtrading.org, closely mimics the official XTB website, using the same address ... 

and contact details to deceive consumers. The scammers are also impersonating company representatives and may attempt to steal funds from unsuspecting users. The FCA cautions that this clone is particularly convincing, with nearly all site functions, including registration, appearing legitimate. Similar warnings have been issued by the FCA in previous years.

comes after a detailed review of the CNMV's interpretative criteria on product intervention measures for CFDs and leveraged products, published on July 12, 2024. The CNMV's guidance prohibits advertising CFDs and similar products in Spain and XTB stated that it will comply with these marketing restrictions effective immediately.
